Best Global Ticket Alternative: TicketingHub

Per-ticket fees eating your margins? TicketingHub charges 3% per booking — no monthly fee, no per-ticket charge. OTA sync, Magic Link, 24/7 support.

Flat per-ticket fees quietly tax your cheapest tickets hardest. TicketingHub charges 3% of the booking — no monthly fee, no per-ticket charge — with 24/7 support.

Stop paying a 10% commission on your cheapest tickets

Here's the maths flat per-ticket fees hope you won't do: EUR 0.50 on a EUR 5 child admission is a 10% commission. Global Ticket earned its name selling admissions for Benelux museums and attractions, but if your tickets sit at the low end — and most do — a flat fee taxes them hardest. TicketingHub charges 3% of booking value instead, with no setup or monthly fee: cheap tickets stay cheap to sell, and a month with no sales costs nothing. It's rated 5.0 on Capterra.

If you sell more than plain admissions — guided tours, activities, reseller distribution, walk-up sales — here's where the two platforms differ and what each is genuinely good at.

What is Global Ticket?

Global Ticket is an Amsterdam-based online ticketing platform for museums, zoos, theme parks, and attractions. It was founded in 2013 by Robin Blekemolen and Sander Hannema, who built their first online ticket shop for a canal-house museum in Amsterdam. From there it grew into a leading ticketing provider for attractions in the Benelux, with clients including the Van Gogh Museum, the Heineken Experience, theme park Toverland, and GaiaZOO.

In February 2020 Global Ticket was acquired by CM.com, the Dutch payments and communications company, and its team joined CM.com's Amsterdam office. At the time of the acquisition it served roughly 200 direct customers and around 400 resellers — including GetYourGuide and Tiqets — and had sold more than five million tickets in 2019 across the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, and South Africa.

The product focuses on venue admissions: a reservation page on your website, timeslots and ticket limits, sales statistics, barcode scanning at the door, reseller distribution, and cash-register integrations. Since the acquisition it sits inside CM.com's wider ticketing and payments ecosystem.

Global Ticket pricing: what a flat fee really costs

Global Ticket does not publish an official price list on its website. Third-party comparisons report a fee of roughly EUR 0.45 to EUR 0.50 per ticket, with payment processing charged on top per transaction — for example around EUR 0.29 for iDEAL and a percentage plus fixed fee for credit cards. Software directories list a starting price of about USD 0.61 per ticket. Treat these as indicative: you'll need a quote for your actual rate.

The structural point is what that does to your margins. On a EUR 5 child admission, EUR 0.50 is effectively a 10% commission; on a EUR 100 group tour it's 0.5%. Flat fees favour high-priced tickets and punish low-priced ones — and your family tickets, concessions and school groups are exactly where the fee bites.

Do the maths for your own gate. Selling EUR 10,000 of online bookings a month at an average ticket price of EUR 12.50 — 800 tickets — Global Ticket's reported platform fee comes to EUR 360 to EUR 400, before payment processing. TicketingHub charges 3%: EUR 300, no monthly or setup fee. That EUR 60-to-100 difference comes back every month, and the lower your average ticket price, the wider it gets. Payment provider and OTA integration fees apply separately on TicketingHub, disclosed upfront; payment fees also apply on Global Ticket.

Why operators switch to TicketingHub

Keep more of every cheap ticket

You pay 3% of each online booking — never a flat charge that eats a tenth of a child's admission. No setup or monthly fee means quiet winter months cost nothing: you only pay when you earn. Integration fees for payment providers and OTA channels are the only extras, disclosed upfront — and you keep your choice of payment provider rather than committing to one vendor's payments stack.

Fill the quiet midweek slots you can't sell yourself

Global Ticket connects venues to resellers, but TicketingHub was built around multi-channel distribution. Viator and GetYourGuide demand flows into the same calendar in real time — you never oversell a timeslot — and agents get their own reseller portal. Operators grew OTA sales 401% between 2022 and 2025.

A quieter box office

Stop answering "can we come tomorrow instead?" emails. Magic Link lets visitors reschedule, cancel, or convert a booking to a voucher on their own — you keep the sale as a new date instead of a refund. An email validator means every confirmation arrives, and abandoned-cart emails win back people who almost booked — Shannon R. says on Capterra they "have noticeably reduced the number of people that don't book."

Sell at the gate even when the WiFi dies

The point of sale runs on iOS and Android, works offline, and connects to printers, cash registers, and PDQ machines — walk-ups, kiosks and pop-ups keep selling whatever the network does. Digital waivers come via Smartwaiver, and 24/7 chat and email support has your back — because ticketing problems happen on Saturday afternoons, not office hours.

Who is Global Ticket right for?

  • Museums, zoos, and attractions in the Benelux that want a venue-admissions specialist with strong local references.
  • Venues already inside the CM.com ecosystem for payments or marketing.
  • Operators who mainly need timeslots, ticket limits, and door scanning rather than tour or activity management.

Who is TicketingHub right for?

  • ✅ Attractions and museums with low-priced tickets who want to stop paying what is effectively a high commission on each one.
  • ✅ Tour and activity operators who want OTA demand filling their calendar alongside direct sales.
  • ✅ Operators who want to pay only when they sell — no monthly or setup fees.
  • ✅ Teams that want less admin: self-serve rescheduling, email validation, and abandoned-cart recovery working for them.
  • ✅ Businesses selling in person too, with an offline-capable POS on iOS and Android.
  • ✅ Anyone who values 24/7 human support and free migration help.

The results operators actually get

City Tours Belfast grew ticket sales 400% after switching platforms. Egypt's Sound and Light Shows — attraction-scale, high-volume operations like many Global Ticket venues — grew ticket sales over 500% on TicketingHub. And the 5.0 Capterra rating means you can check what operators think before you commit.

FAQs about switching from Global Ticket

Can I migrate my products and timeslots from Global Ticket?

Yes — switching costs you an afternoon, not a season. The team migrates products, timeslots, and availability for free, your first product can be live in minutes, and support is there 24/7 during and after the move.

How does the cost actually compare?

Global Ticket's reported fees are flat per-ticket charges plus payment costs; TicketingHub charges 3% of booking value with no monthly or setup fee. On low-priced admissions the flat fee usually works out more expensive — on a EUR 5 ticket, EUR 0.50 is 10%. Run both models against your own average ticket price; the cheaper your tickets, the more you keep with 3%.

Can I try TicketingHub before committing?

Yes — there's nothing to lose by testing it. No setup fee, no monthly fee; you only pay 3% when a booking comes in. Set up a product, embed the widget, and compare the numbers on live sales.

Every low-priced ticket is money back

If your average ticket is EUR 12.50, the reported per-ticket model costs you EUR 60 to EUR 100 more on every EUR 10,000 you sell — month after month. Setup is free, migration is done with you, and your first product can be live in minutes. Start free and see what 3% pricing does for your margins.
