Headout + TicketingHub: capture the spur-of-the-moment traveler
A growing share of experience bookings happen on a phone, in destination, hours before the event — travelers deciding over breakfast what to do that afternoon. Headout built its marketplace around exactly this behaviour. Connecting Headout through TicketingHub's channel manager lets you sell those last-minute, mobile-first bookings safely: live availability means late sales are real sales, and every booking lands on your manifest instantly.
What is Headout?
Headout is an online travel agency (OTA) that makes booking tours and activities fast and simple. Enter a destination and Headout shows a curated selection of the best experiences available — from a guided tour of the Eiffel Tower to Grand Canyon helicopter flights and New York Broadway shows — so travelers pick, pay, and go without wading through endless near-identical listings and reviews. Headout also periodically offers discounted tickets, which adds to its appeal for value-conscious travelers.
Curation is the point. Where some marketplaces list everything, Headout aims to present a shorter, higher-quality selection per destination. For operators, being on that shortlist is worth more than being one of five hundred search results — travelers who trust the curation convert faster, and they spend less time comparison-shopping your product against dozens of lookalikes.
Whether someone is a seasoned traveler, moving with a small group, or booking their first city break, the promise is the same: enter a destination, see what's genuinely worth doing, buy tickets in a couple of taps, and get on with the trip.
Why this channel suits tour and attraction operators
Headout's mobile-led, in-destination audience is hard to reach any other way. These travelers aren't planning months ahead from home — they're already in your city with time to fill. Capturing them requires two things: presence on the platform they're browsing, and availability that is genuinely up to the minute. The first is a commercial conversation with Headout; the second is what the channel manager does.
How the integration works
TicketingHub keeps a single live pool of availability across every place you sell. Connect Headout as a channel and:
- Availability updates in real time — dates and times shown on Headout always reflect what's actually left, even minutes before a departure.
- Bookings flow into one backend — Headout orders arrive in your TicketingHub dashboard and manifests automatically, next to direct and other channel sales.
- Overselling is engineered out — every channel draws from the same pool, so two channels can't sell the same last seat.
- Admin disappears — no extranet calendar to maintain, no bookings to re-type, no manual errors.
Selling today's remaining seats
The hardest inventory to sell is this afternoon's. With Headout connected, your 4pm walking tour with six unsold places stays bookable to in-destination browsers right up to your cut-off time — and a booking made at 3:12pm is on your guide's manifest at 3:12pm.
Reaching international visitors on mobile
City-break tourists often default to whichever app is in their pocket. A museum or attraction connected to Headout picks up walk-up-style demand digitally — visitors who would never have found the attraction's own website but happily book two taps deep in a marketplace they trust.
Growing beyond one flagship product
Operators often connect their best-seller first, then use the channel to give newer products visibility to Headout's audience. Because you control the channel's product list in TicketingHub, expanding distribution is a configuration change, not a project.
How to get connected
Channels are managed from your TicketingHub supplier dashboard, and our team will set the connection up with you: add a wholesale rate to the relevant products, create Headout as a reseller with that rate, create the channel with its allowed products, and share the credentials with Headout. The channel manager carries a simple per-booking integration fee; your commission terms are agreed directly with Headout.
Before going live, run a test booking on the channel and check it appears as a pending order in TicketingHub with the reseller name shown — that's your confirmation the pipes are connected.
Common questions
What kind of travelers book through Headout?
Predominantly mobile-first travelers browsing by destination, often booking close to the experience date. Curated city experiences — landmarks, shows, tours, attractions — perform particularly well with this audience.
Does Headout ever discount my tickets?
Headout occasionally offers discounted tickets as part of its consumer proposition. How pricing and promotions apply to your products is part of your commercial agreement with Headout.
How quickly do Headout bookings reach my manifest?
Immediately. Bookings are pushed into your TicketingHub account as they happen, which is what makes accepting bookings until shortly before a departure safe.
Can I sell only some products on Headout?
Yes — the channel sells exactly the products you place in it, at the rates you assign. You can start narrow and widen the catalogue as the channel proves itself.
What happens if I close a departure?
Close it once in TicketingHub and it closes everywhere, Headout included. That single-source-of-truth model is the core of the channel manager.
Do I need technical skills to run the channel?
No. The connection is set up with our support team, and day-to-day there's nothing to maintain — no separate calendar, no exports. If you can manage products in your TicketingHub dashboard, you can manage the Headout channel.
