Best Zaui Software Alternative: TicketingHub

Zaui's free plan charges 6% per booking. TicketingHub charges a flat 3%, no monthly fee — keep roughly half your fees, plus OTA sync and 24/7 support.

Zaui's free plan takes 6% of every online booking — twice TicketingHub's flat 3%. Keep the difference, with OTA sync, self-serve rebooking, and 24/7 support included.

Paying Zaui 6% when 3% buys the same job done?

Zaui's Free plan isn't free at the checkout: it takes 6% of every online booking unless you have the volume to negotiate an Enterprise rate. On £10,000 of monthly online sales, that's £300 a month — £3,600 a year — more than TicketingHub's flat 3%. Money that could pay a guide's wages goes to the software instead.

TicketingHub gives every operator the same deal from day one: an embeddable widget, real-time OTA distribution, point of sale, and a reseller portal, all from one dashboard — one flat 3% rate, no monthly fee, no setup cost, no negotiation. Operators rate it 5.0 on Capterra.

What is Zaui Software?

Zaui is a reservation and operations platform for tour, activity, and transportation businesses, founded in 1999 by software engineer and climber Kory Fawcett, who, by Zaui's own account, started the company at the back of a van at Locarno Beach in Vancouver. It's headquartered in Canada, with team members also in the US and Norway.

Zaui serves sightseeing and multi-day tour operators, activity providers like zip-line and kayak companies, and transportation businesses including shuttle, limo, and boat rental fleets. It doesn't publish named clients, so we can't verify specific logos. It recently added an AI product, Nera, alongside its core booking and channel-management tools.

One thing Zaui gets genuine credit for, including from a prospect we spoke with directly, is a supplier homepage feature that doubles as an SEO backlink — a real differentiator worth naming.

Zaui pricing: what 6% really costs you

Zaui runs pay-as-you-go, not subscription. The Free plan is $0 a month; Zaui instead adds a 6% fee on online bookings, while offline or manually entered bookings carry no commission. Larger operators can move to a custom Enterprise plan, where the fee falls with volume to as low as 1%, with onboarding and integrations bundled in. No plan has a long-term contract.

Do the maths for your own volume: an operator taking £10,000 of online bookings a month pays £600 in fees on Zaui's Free plan (6%). On TicketingHub's flat 3%, the same £10,000 costs £300 — a £300 monthly difference, roughly £3,600 a year, straight back into your margin. That gap narrows, or reverses, on a negotiated Enterprise rate, but that needs a sales conversation and enough volume — no threshold is published, so assume 6% until you've secured otherwise.

Why operators switch to TicketingHub

Keep more of every booking, from booking one

Zaui's default rate is 6%; the lower Enterprise rates are custom and volume-gated. TicketingHub charges 3% per online booking for every operator from day one, no minimum volume, nothing to negotiate — you keep the other 3% instead of earning your way to it. Payment-provider and OTA fees apply separately on both, and we're upfront about ours.

Fill slots you can't sell yourself

TicketingHub's channel manager keeps availability in sync in real time with Viator, GetYourGuide, and other resellers, from the same dashboard as direct bookings — marketplace demand lands on the same calendar, with no double-bookings to apologise for. Operators using it grew OTA sales 401% between 2022 and 2025.

Booking changes that never reach your inbox

When plans change, Magic Link lets customers reschedule, cancel, or convert a booking to a voucher without emailing or calling in — you keep the sale as a new date or a voucher, and your team keeps their evening. Reviewers praise Zaui's support team by name — proof support quality matters. Magic Link resolves the request before it becomes a ticket at all.

Sell at the gate, online, and through agents — one calendar

TicketingHub's point of sale runs on iOS and Android, works offline, and connects to printers, cash registers, and PDQ machines — so the ticket booth keeps selling even when the WiFi dies, and it shares inventory with your website. Add the reseller portal, and every channel stays on one calendar.

What reviewers say about Zaui

Zaui holds a 4.3/5 rating on Capterra across 54 reviews. Reviewers praise the support team as responsive, plus the platform's flexibility for complex booking scenarios and OTA integrations. Recurring complaints: a clunky or convoluted backend, cumbersome setup, and reporting that's harder to access than it should be. One reviewer described extended peak-season outages — and an outage in peak season is unsold capacity you never get back. People generally like the platform once they've learned it, and the learning curve is real.

Who is Zaui right for?

Zaui can be a reasonable fit if:

  • You run a transportation-heavy business — shuttle, limo, boat rental — where Zaui's roots run deep.
  • You have the volume to qualify for Enterprise pricing and want to negotiate a custom rate.
  • You want a supplier homepage feature for SEO backlinks, which some operators specifically value.
  • You're fine with a steeper learning curve in exchange for a highly configurable backend.

Who is TicketingHub right for?

  • ✅ You want to keep more of every booking — a flat 3%, not a rate that depends on negotiation.
  • ✅ You want OTA demand from Viator and GetYourGuide flowing in with real-time sync and no extra admin.
  • ✅ You want customers rescheduling and vouchering themselves, so your inbox stays quiet.
  • ✅ You sell in person too, and want POS, printers, and cash registers on the same system as your website.
  • ✅ You work with resale agents and want them booking against live shared availability.
  • ✅ You want to go live in minutes with free migration help, not a lengthy onboarding project.

What operators say about TicketingHub

"TicketingHub is a fantastic booking management system. The abandoned cart emails have noticeably reduced the number of people that don't book." — Shannon R., small business owner, Capterra. That's revenue won back from customers who almost walked away.

City Tours Belfast grew ticket sales 400% after switching from Checkfront; Egypt's Sound and Light Shows grew ticket sales over 500% with TicketingHub.

"From getting started and setup fast to general random questions about functionality at 9pm on a Saturday night the team reply fast." — Chris G., Developer, Capterra.

FAQs about switching from Zaui

How hard is it to migrate from Zaui to TicketingHub?

Switching costs you an afternoon, not a season. TicketingHub's team moves your products, availability, and existing bookings across at no charge, and most operators have their first product live within minutes of the widget going on their site.

Is TicketingHub actually cheaper than Zaui?

On Zaui's Free plan, yes — 3% flat beats a 6% fee at any volume, which means keeping roughly half the fees you pay today. If you've negotiated a low Enterprise rate with Zaui, compare it directly against TicketingHub's flat 3% first.

Can I try TicketingHub before fully switching from Zaui?

Yes — with no setup fee and no long-term contract, there's nothing to cancel. Run TicketingHub alongside Zaui for a season, compare on your own bookings, and switch over once you're confident.

Every month at 6% is a month you paid double

On £10,000 a month of online bookings, staying on Zaui's Free plan costs about £300 a month more than TicketingHub's flat 3%. Setup is free, migration is free, one line of code adds the widget, and your first product can be live in minutes — backed by 24/7 chat and email support.
