Izettle Integration
TicketingHub's Point of Sale system integrates with the world's most popular mobile card reader, izettle. The iZettle ticketing integration will allow businesses using both services to accept cards and process payments directly from our mobile POS
Selling tours and activities rarely happens from behind a fixed counter. Guides meet their groups on street corners, boats load from jetties, and kayak trips start on a beach — yet guests still expect to tap a card and go. The iZettle integration brings card payments to wherever your business actually happens, and feeds every sale straight into your TicketingHub dashboard, so in-person sales and online bookings live in one place.
What is iZettle?
iZettle started in Stockholm and grew into the leading mobile card reader and point-of-sale provider for small businesses in Europe. In 2018 the company was acquired by PayPal, and today it trades under the name Zettle by PayPal — so whether you see iZettle or Zettle, it is the same product family. The idea has stayed the same throughout: give small businesses an affordable card reader and a simple app, so they can accept card payments anywhere without the cost and complexity of a traditional bank terminal.
The Zettle range covers a few different setups. The Zettle Reader is a compact card reader that pairs with the free Zettle Go app, where you can track your sales, get paid, and monitor everything in between. The Zettle Terminal combines the point-of-sale app and card reader in one handheld device, so you can run POS functions and take payments without a separate phone or tablet.
How iZettle works with TicketingHub
TicketingHub has partnered with iZettle so operators can take in-person card payments as part of their normal booking flow. You run TicketingHub Outpost — our point-of-sale app for iOS and Android — on a phone or tablet and pair your Zettle reader with it over Bluetooth. When a guest buys a ticket in person, the booking is created in TicketingHub and the payment is taken on the reader, so the ticket, the sale, and the payment all line up automatically.
Because POS payments sync to your TicketingHub dashboard in real time, in-person sales sit alongside your online bookings in the same reports and manifests. Availability stays accurate, there is no separate spreadsheet for door sales, and no re-keying at the end of the day.
One important point on how the money flows: card payments taken on a Zettle reader settle directly through your own Zettle account, not through TicketingHub. TicketingHub never holds your funds and never stores or accesses customer card data — processing happens entirely between your reader and Zettle.
What you get
- Enhanced mobility: accept payments anywhere, ideal for outdoor and remote tour locations.
- Seamless bookings: in-person sales are created as real bookings, so availability and manifests stay accurate.
- Diverse payment options: chip and PIN plus contactless, including Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Samsung Pay.
- Real-time reporting: instant sales data and analytics for informed business decisions.
- Reduced overhead: fewer administrative tasks and no manual reconciliation between systems.
Where operators use it
Walk-up sales on city and walking tours
A guide with a phone and a Zettle reader is a complete box office. Guests who turn up without a booking can pay by card on the spot, the sale is recorded against the right departure, and capacity updates instantly — so you never oversell a tour because a walk-up was written down on paper.
Boat trips, kayaking, and outdoor adventures
On the water or on the trail, cash is awkward and card machines tied to a socket are useless. A Bluetooth reader in a guide's pocket means you can take payment at the meeting point, on the dock, or at the trailhead, and the whole day's takings are already reconciled when you get back.
Pop-up desks and seasonal box offices
For seasonal operations — a summer kiosk, a festival stand, a temporary ticket desk — Zettle keeps setup costs low. A tablet running TicketingHub Outpost plus a reader is all the hardware you need, and every sale flows into the same dashboard as your website bookings.
The Zettle Reader 2 at a glance
- Connects to your device with low-energy Bluetooth
- Accepts a wide variety of contactless payment methods, including Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Samsung Pay
- Accepts chip and PIN payments, with PIN or signature approval above certain amounts
- Charges quickly over USB and is compatible with the Zettle Dock 2
- Handles around 100 transactions on a single charge, with an 8-hour battery life
In use, the reader doubles as a friendly sales host: it greets the customer with a welcome message, shows the amount payable, and asks them to tap or insert a card. Once payment completes, the welcome message returns for the next guest.

Frequently asked questions
Is iZettle the same as Zettle?
Yes. iZettle rebranded to Zettle by PayPal after PayPal acquired the company in 2018. The readers, the app, and the integration with TicketingHub are the same regardless of which name you see.
Do payments go through TicketingHub?
No. Card payments taken on a Zettle reader settle directly through your own Zettle account. TicketingHub records the sale against the booking but never holds your money and never stores card data.
Do in-person sales appear in my normal reports?
Yes. Sales made through the POS app land in the same dashboard, manifests, and reports as your online bookings, so end-of-day reconciliation is automatic.
Can several guides take payments at the same time?
Yes. Multiple devices can be logged in to TicketingHub Outpost under the same account, each with its own paired reader, so a whole team can sell simultaneously.
What hardware do I need to buy?
A Zettle card reader and any supported smartphone or tablet. The TicketingHub Outpost app is free to download; payment processing fees are set by Zettle as your POS provider.
Which payment methods can guests use?
Chip and PIN plus contactless cards, along with mobile wallets such as Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Samsung Pay.
