Best TrekkSoft Alternative: TicketingHub

Switching from TrekkSoft? Swap the fee stack for one number: 3% per booking, no monthly plans, no contract. OTA sync, Magic Link, 24/7 support.

Stop paying a subscription, a commission, and gateway fees on the same booking. TicketingHub charges 3% per online booking — no setup fee, no monthly fee, nothing through the off-season.

Adding up your real TrekkSoft bill? So did we.

TrekkSoft is one of the longest-standing platforms in this market and a solid product. But its pricing is a stack: a monthly subscription billed annually, a commission on every channel, and payment processing on its own gateway on top. Capterra reviewers name cost as its most common drawback — and if you're seasonal, that subscription keeps billing through your empty winter.

TicketingHub charges one number: 3% per online booking. No setup fee, no monthly fee, free to start — integration fees for payment providers and OTA channels are the whole list of extras. You only pay when you earn, and operators rate it 5.0 on Capterra.

What is TrekkSoft?

TrekkSoft is a Swiss booking and channel-management platform for tour and activity operators, founded in 2010 and headquartered in Interlaken. It grew into one of the largest providers of its kind in Europe, expanding through acquisitions including Acteavo in Ireland and DigiTickets in the UK, and opening an office in Barcelona.

The product covers a conversion-optimised booking widget, a back office for managing bookings, a point of sale that runs on laptops, tablets, and mobile devices, tools for travel agents and resellers, and a channel manager connecting to OTAs and marketplaces such as GetYourGuide, Viator, Expedia, and Klook. Payments run through Payyo, TrekkSoft's own payment gateway built for tour and activity businesses.

It is a mature, well-reviewed platform. The trade-off operators mention most is cost: reviewers on Capterra repeatedly describe the pricing as steep for small businesses, and the fee structure has more layers than most rivals.

TrekkSoft pricing: what the stack adds up to

TrekkSoft publishes three tiers, all billed annually: Starter at 49 euros per month, Accelerate at 149, and Ultimate at 249, plus a custom Enterprise tier. Each tier then charges a commission per channel. On Starter, direct online bookings cost 3%, OTA bookings 3% or 0.50 euros (whichever is higher), and offline bookings 1.50 euros each. Accelerate drops those to 2.5% and 1 euro; Ultimate to 2% and 0.50 euros. So the lower your subscription, the higher your per-booking rates.

Payment processing is separate: TrekkSoft's integrated gateway charges around 2.5% plus 0.25 euros per transaction for European operators, 3% plus 0.25 euros outside Europe. Payouts are monthly on Starter and Accelerate; only Ultimate pays out weekly. Third-party comparisons also report a 12-month contract, and some have previously cited a one-time setup fee of 799 euros, though no setup fee appears on TrekkSoft's current pricing page.

Do the maths for your volume. Sell 10,000 euros of direct online bookings in a month — 100 bookings averaging 100 euros — on the Starter tier and you pay roughly 49 euros of subscription, 300 euros of commission at 3%, and about 275 euros of payment processing on TrekkSoft's gateway (2.5% plus 0.25 euros per transaction): around 624 euros in total. On TicketingHub, the same month costs 300 euros — 3% of bookings — plus whatever your own payment provider charges to process cards. That difference, month after month, is a seasonal guide's wages. And in a quiet month with no sales, TrekkSoft's subscription still bills; TicketingHub costs nothing.

Why operators switch to TicketingHub

Keep more of every booking — and pay nothing to stand still

TrekkSoft's tier logic makes you choose: a higher subscription for lower commissions, or a lower subscription for higher ones — with payment processing on top either way. TicketingHub removes the maths: 3% per online booking, nothing fixed, nothing when you are not selling. Seasonal operators feel this most — an annual subscription keeps billing through the winter, while pay-per-booking simply pauses with you.

Win back the customers who almost booked

Some TrekkSoft reviewers report losing sales at the checkout stage. TicketingHub attacks abandonment from two sides: a lightweight, fast widget that keeps guests on your site in their own language and currency, and abandoned-cart emails that follow up automatically. Shannon R., a small business owner, says those emails have "noticeably reduced the number of people that don't book." An email validator at checkout also stops typos becoming bounced confirmations and no-shows.

Get your evenings back from date-change emails

Every booking comes with a Magic Link: guests reschedule, cancel, or convert to a voucher on their own, without emailing you. Date changes stop being your team's job, and refund conversations often end in a voucher instead of lost revenue — the sale stays yours.

Grow OTA sales without a platform fee on every marketplace booking

Both platforms connect the big marketplaces. On TrekkSoft, each OTA booking carries a 2% to 3% or 0.50 euro platform fee by tier, on top of the OTA's own commission. On TicketingHub, availability syncs with Viator, GetYourGuide, and other resellers in real time from one dashboard — and operators grew OTA sales 401% between 2022 and 2025.

Help at the hours things actually break

TrekkSoft's support scores a respectable 4.5 for customer service on Capterra, though some recent reviewers report chat replies taking a day or two — a long wait when the widget is down on a Saturday. TicketingHub offers 24/7 support on chat and email, and the team helps you migrate from your current platform for free.

What reviewers say about TrekkSoft

TrekkSoft holds a 4.5 out of 5 rating on Capterra across 230 reviews, with sub-scores of 4.2 for ease of use, 4.5 for customer service, and 4.3 for value for money. Reviewers consistently praise the comprehensive feature set, the mobile apps for agents and guides, and helpful support staff. The recurring criticisms: pricing feels steep for small businesses, reporting and email templates need work, and the additional transaction and transfer fees add up. It is a genuinely capable platform whose main friction is cost structure, not functionality.

Who is TrekkSoft right for?

  • European operators who want an all-in-one suite with payments handled on one integrated gateway.
  • Higher-volume businesses on the Ultimate tier, where lower commissions and weekly payouts offset the bigger subscription.
  • Teams that value a long-established vendor with a large European footprint and mature agent tools.

Who is TicketingHub right for?

  • ✅ You want one transparent price — 3% per online booking, no setup or monthly fees.
  • ✅ You're seasonal and refuse to pay subscriptions through the off-season.
  • ✅ You're growing OTA sales and don't want a per-channel platform fee on top of the OTA's cut.
  • ✅ You're tired of manual date changes — Magic Link lets guests self-serve.
  • ✅ You sell in person too and need an offline-capable POS on iOS and Android.
  • ✅ You want 24/7 human support and free migration help.

What operators say about TicketingHub

TicketingHub is rated 5.0 on Capterra. City Tours Belfast grew ticket sales 400% after switching from Checkfront, and Egypt's Sound and Light Shows grew ticket sales 500% — growth that came from switching, not from paying more.

FAQs about switching from TrekkSoft

Can I migrate my products and bookings from TrekkSoft?

Yes — switching costs you an afternoon, not a season. Migration is free: our team moves your products, availability, and bookings with you, and your OTA connections are reconnected through TicketingHub's channel manager.

Will TicketingHub really cost less than TrekkSoft?

For most small and seasonal operators, yes. TrekkSoft charges a subscription billed annually plus 2% to 3% commission plus gateway processing; TicketingHub charges 3% per online booking and nothing fixed. Run your own numbers with last season's volume — the fixed layers are usually what tips it. High-volume operators should compare both totals carefully.

Can I try TicketingHub before leaving TrekkSoft?

Yes — there's no setup fee and no monthly fee, so nothing to cancel. Set up TicketingHub alongside TrekkSoft, put the widget on a test page, and compare checkout flow and real costs before you commit.

See what a season without subscription fees looks like

On the worked example above, the TrekkSoft stack came to around 624 euros a month against 300 on TicketingHub before card processing — and the subscription bills whether you're sold out or snowed in.
